Nightsky In the work there is eight transparent plates, which each shows part of the star systems seen in the sky of Helsinki. This is done with phosporic paint. In the same space there is a very bright light with a timer. The light goes on and off with 1,5 minutes interval. This causes the phosporic paint to charge with light and in the dark the stars glow before dimming down. In the dark none of the structures of the work is visible, only the glowing stars can be seen in a three-dimensional way from the end of the work. |
Yötaivas Teoksessa on kahdeksan läpinäkyvää levyä, joista jokaiselle on maalattu fosforimaalilla osa tähtitaivaasta Helsingistä nähtynä. Samassa tilassa on hyvin kirkas ajastettu valo syttymässä ja sammumassa noin 1,5 minuutin välein. Tämä saa aikaan sen, että fosforimaali latautuu valossa ja hohtaa pimeässä hitaasti hiipuen. Pimeässä mitkään teoksen rakenteista eivät näy vaan tähdet näkyvät ikäänkuin kolmiulotteisesti teoksen päädystä katsottuna. |
